  • Fischer Milling Spindle, Complex Machining Part

Typically, spindles used in mold and die applications require very high speeds in order to provide sufficient high cutting speed for tools with small diameters. The high speed cutting technology applied in the manufacturing processes is characterized by higher cutting speeds and feed rates, but smaller chip thicknesses (axial depth of cut) than in conventional processes. Mainly, spindles are used in machines with 5 axis machining capabilities since free-form surfaces are generatred on a workpiece in these applications.
In the past, higher speed appeared to be the most significant requirement in mold and die milling. But recently accuracy, (meaning machine tool center point repeatability) and reliability, have gained more importance as well. FISCHER PRECISE innovations (like shaft cooling) for milling applications consider these additional requirements. These innovations include synchronous motor technology and improvements in grease lubrication technologies, leading to a series of products from the FISCHER PRECISE group that are ready for use.
