SmartDrive

The use of high torque and high power motors resulted in Fischer becoming involved with converter technology. With a modulation frequency of 40 kHz, a usable current up to 300 A (RMS), and an integrated industrial PC, Fischer’s SmartDrive converter accommodates today’s requirements of merging spindle and drive into one mechatronical system. The new product should be considered as a “plug-in” that contains all information relating to the spindle operation and its monitoring functions.

When compared to existing converters,  Fischer’s SmartDrive outperforms the others in high speed and high power cutting applications as its high modulation frequency allows for the maximum spindle power at maximum speed. Limitations due to de-rating effects can be neglected since they do not exist in this configuration.

The SmartDrive converter also implements the features of our monitoring system SmartVision. In addition, the integrated industrial PC allows for further options to analyze and measure collected data.
